SPRING 2006

After 10 years in the big city of Dallas, we were ready for a serious lifestyle change…we were blessed to find our bit of Heaven on earth right here in the beautiful Arkansas Ozarks!  We’ve been on “the farm” for over 6 years now and continue to be amazed at the direction our lives are taking.  I’ve always had a love of flowers and when returning to college, began pursuit of a degree in Horticulture and landscape design.  While working full time and traveling for my job, I could never find the time to work toward my goal of a perennial plant farm.  Five years ago, our son introduced us to Ebay, and as they say, the rest is history….

Our business has more than doubled each year with internet sales!  We hope to continue the growth of our internet business (www.bloominacresfarm.com) and have been fortunate to find a wonderful group of customers on the world wide web.  We specialize in perennials that are hardy, care-free and heat/drought tolerant.  Let’s face it, we all love to garden, but we need low maintenance alternatives in this busy world of ours!    A list of current plants is attached.  We’re happy to help with selections for your perennial beds, cutting garden, rock garden, butterfly garden or design of any sort.

With our internet business well underway, it’s time to begin building our local customer base.  We will begin our 1st season at the FAYETTEVILLE FARMERS MARKET this spring.   In addition, we’re planning two sales at the farm on April 29th and May 13th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:p.m. (we’re also happy to set up farm visits for you or your group!)   Please plan to visit for lots of specials on plants, as well as enjoying the newly born Icelandic lambs.

Additionally, we have farm fresh eggs, gourds and Icelandic fleeces available for sale.  Icelandic lambs for breeding will be available this summer.  Later in the fall, we will offer processed lamb (some of the most delicately flavored lamb available).  We will also have roving and yarn available for handspinners and knitters in the near future.

Of course, we still work full time off the farm, which limits the speed of our progress, so please be patient with us as we grow.  We’re excited about the direction God is sending us and hope to share the knowledge of what we learn as we go.  We’re convinced that farm living is the life for us, and hope to enrich the lives of others with our products and services in the years to come.
